What does Error 1604 Mean

    Hey guys i had to do a force restore on my touch and this error comes up? and it wont let me restore it. what should i do?

    restart your computer, then try to restore again, repeat if necessary.

    I got that when I needed to restore mine, too. I had to do the restore from my dad's computer. It was a mac, but I don't know if it needed to be. BTW, after the restore, my iTunes couldn't read my iPod. Eventually I decided that a system restore was the easiest way to fix it. It worked like a charm.

    I was starting to really think I made a brick but this link saved my day... hell may have saved my life if the wife found out I bricked this thing. The step that worked for me was "Restart Apple Mobile Device Service (Windows only)".
