I hope they put it into the Macbook Pros that have regular hard drives, although that would decrease their ability to be user-modified. I like the idea!

It's a very innovative process. I can't wait to see it in action.

It's a process that they stole and renamed, just like FaceTime, and called it revolutionary.

Look up "hybrid" drives, they've been around for a few years.

I wouldn't call it innovative. It is just one of those hybrid drives that have been out for quite a while. Although it remains to be seen how effectively it upgrades the speed of the Mac compared to a traditional drive. Perhaps they have figured a way to make it work better than it does on windows. I do wish I opted for the ssd on my iMac as it does take some time for some of the bigger applications to load. But this fusion drive still wouldn't help that as I'm sure things like iphoto would not fit on the smaller portion of the drive.

just another reason to try and justify the user inaccessibility to the inside of the computer to make upgrades...

Cant wait to see if someone hacks support for other "hybrid" drives to run on mac os :p

hybrid drives should work on any computer, it's hardware based, not software based.

Meh...hybrids aren't that good. They tend to break more than work. Or at least that's what I have heard.
