    I just wanna know what does the 1.1.1 mean?

    or the 2.2.

    or 2.2

    or 1.1.5

    [in those are the FW versions btw guys)

    ???

    just out of curiosity?

    I'm guessing that the first number means a whole new thing, like 2.0 introduced AppStore etc.

    what do you guys think?

    Wait.....
    They had 1.1 on the iPod Touch??!?!?
    I thought it started at 1.1.1.
    On all of the vids on YouTube, they always show 1.1.1 and I've never seen a 1.1 video.
    That is flippin' sweet!

    1.2.3 (as example..this did not exist but as an example)

    1=the main software, this usually changes with the intro of a new product (iPhone 3G)
    2=a major change in the product, may include bug fixes(ex. Genius, street view)
    3=few bug fixes
