What?? Cydia?

Discussion in 'iPod touch Firmware 2.X Jailbreak' started by deleted account, Jul 24, 2008.

  1. I just jailbroke my iPod Touch with 2.0 firmware using WinPwn.
I was actually surprised to see that Cydia was installed instead of Installer.app. I have nothing against Cydia, but I prefer Installer.app much more.

How can I install Installer.app onto my iPod Touch using WinPwn 2.0.0.2?
If there is a way to install both Cydia and Installer.app, I would love to do that.

    Installer.app doesn't work with 2.0.

Installer.app is currently not supported on 2.0, it's been Ported but is still being refined.

Besides, there isn't anything that you can use as of yet. Aside from NES, MobileTerminal, and small other trinkets.

installer app is currently not out yet. it should be out in the next few days.
  5. Alright so then I would be guessing that that would be Installer.app 4.0?
Alrighty then. When it comes out, will I be able to install it via WinPwn?
I was planning to jailbreak it today, but I guess I'll wait and just restore my iPod using the backup I have.

Also, is there any way to install both of them? I would love to have them both on my iPod Touch.

Thanks everyone who answered these questions.

Technically, you could also install via SSH. Or maybe even from Cydia, if they learn not to compete and work together. You COULD use both of them. But I don't see why you would.
  7. Are they virtually the same thing? I'm not really good at SSHing.
I've read many opinions and most people like Installer.app.
    What do you think?

You can install Apps from both of them. I haven't heard much about Cydia. Installer had problems launch a lot of the time but its easier to add sources.
  9. Alright then, thanks. I'll just wait for Installer.app 4.0 to come out. That probably won't take long
Thanks so much for helping me!
