What can/will the Apple Store do about my iPod?

    Hey guys, I was just wondering if the Apple store will do anything about a manufacturing defect even if it's two years later after I bought it... (if someone here works at the apple store and could give me an answer that would be great) but if you have some experience w/ a similar situation do tell about what happened.

    In a nutshell, there had always been 2 small gaps between the glass and the electronic components on the front of the iPod. The bigger gap/airpocket is pictured above and circled while the other one is at the bottom of the class screen and currently isn't that noticeable. I never thought anything of it until recently...

    It came this way and only grew a little bit over the couple of years I've had it. So my question is could they do anything for me? I know that Apple is extremely lenient and can almost always help out in some way but would asking them to do something 2 years later be pushing it? Will the receipt for it matter if I take it to them?

    They probably won't do anything about it, since you probably don't have warranty anymore.

    I had a feeling that would be what might happen. Thanks for the responses anyway guys. Anymore responses would still be appreciated.

    I just thought they might because I had always heard of stories of my friends taking in their iPod's saying that they had a problem with their iPod and wanted it to be swapped for a new one and the Apple store would just give them one....

    Buy an AppleCare when you purchase, and you won't have these issues. :| Those last what, 3 years on an iPod?
