What are the chances of me jailbreaking my ipod touch 1g. and something just happening out of nowhere for example:
    • Power Button stops working
    • Home Button stops working
    • Cant get into dfu mode because either one of those buttons has stopped working
Is there a program that kicks your iPod Touch into dfu mode, i know theres one for 1.1.x but how about for 2.2?

    Jailbreaking can't cause hardware problems

Yeah jailbreaking isn't a hardware "update" if you will, it changes the software. So no your iPod cannot be in any hardware harm by jailbreaking.

He's not asking that, he's saying that his buttons on the outside of his device are not turning on the screen on, or even responding. So he needs a way to put his device into DFU mode.

Well, once you put it into DFU, i don't really know how the buttons would start to work. If you had a case on your ipod with magnets in it, it could have offset the button placement.

    I'm not sure though.

Yes I know. My BlackBerry had a problem like that, when you pressed on the trackball it wouldn't respond. It's a hardware issue, there's no way you can harm any buttons by jailbreaking.
