What a f**k!!!!

    Dio cane, my iPod just arrived from the store in 5th avenue in NY (bought by a friend of mine -I'm italian-) but I've got a BIG problem! The last part of the touch screen doesn't work; If I touch this part (like the music, videos... icons it doesn't recive any input.

    Thats weird, try restore but I doubt it works.

    I restored it but is always the same. I bring it in an "apple center" (yes...in Italy we have only ONE Apple Store.....

    ): they says that will test it and if there's a sofware problem I have to pay 60 euro per hour (about 84 usd!!!!!!) but if the problem is an hardware one, they'll give me a new Ipod.
    However, how does Apple in the States react with problems like this? Will they replace it immediatly in the store the same day? Tnx

    Yeah I had the same thing... but mine was the whole left 1/2" of the screen.

    I just took it into the apple store and they gave me a new one that day.

    The problem you're facing is that it was purchased abroad, and you're trying to get your local store to service it. I don't think it's unheard of, but they should give you better customer service than that. Frankly, if they want you to buy locally, then treat you better.

    However in Canada things are a little different when it comes to honoring items purchased abroad. Apple Canada generally honors the policies and warranties of items from the US, or in most cases defers them to the US division to deal with.
