Recently my iPod Touch 2nd Gen got a bit wet. It was nothing major but it did do some slight damage to the screen. Now about 1/3 of my screen is brighter than the other 2/3 of the screen. Also, sometimes the screen goes completely white and flashes between white/whatever I'm doing.

Now I read somewhere on the forums that placing the iPod in a bag if dry rice seems to solve the problems. Now I have had the iPod in the rice for about 10 hours and it is improving. However' what I want to know is how long it will take for all of the moisture to come out of my iPod(It said on the thread but I couldn't find it again). I also want to know if it will cause any permanent damage.

    Thanks in advance.

How does a bag of rice help get the moisture off the iPod?

I dont think it will cause any permanent damage. I have never done this with an iDevice but i have done it with a couple cell phones and it didnt cause any permanent damage.

Really? Actually, that makes sense. Gotta remember that just in case. Still need a new screen though
