I just got my replacement ipod back from china, and has a strange beginning to it. It starts with a DJ, and i was wondering if this meant it was a refurb or what? any help?

DJ? That's a new one. I heard that refurb serial numbers are supposed to start with RM (refurbished/re manufactured model), but not sure if that is true.

And yea, like Micro_hard said... what if this is the newest batch? Maybe this batch'll have less problems?

They do that whenever they make a notable hardware change. Not fix a screen (or something else like that).

Every problem we've heard about for this iPod is a defect.
Except the iPhone 4, which is clearly a hardware problem.

Use it for 30 mins with hot hands. They might have solved the light leak.

Yes please check for a light leak (100% brightness, complete dark room). Check volume button area, and down both sides. I'm curious!

Have good news and bad. First bad, there is a light leak but its so tiny that i had to concentrate to see it at a certain angle during full brightness. Good news, no overheating i played it for a little while and it was still perfect temp. Hope that helps.

Also, could the camera tick be fixed in a software update?

Probably. At the very least they could patch it so that the wifi is turned off when you're recording video.
