I have tried two calculator apps (calc and numerous) and I’m having the same problem with each. My multiply and divided by symbols (and maybe some others) appear as dots instead of the actual symbols.

The correct symbols actually show up correctly for a split second before changing to dots, so I’m thinking this might be a font problem. I have used fontswap some in the past before I just manually replaced the default font with another one. Any idea if this is a font issue or how I can fix it?

    Thanks.

If I were in that situation, I would research how to creäte/edit a font and either create the missin' characters or copy and paste the ones from another font.

That sounds like too much work. Is there a way to assign a different font for just one app?

Simply put, it's not that simple. Ya'll would have to have programmer's knowledge to be able to change the font in just one app.

The above method would be a whole lot less painful. Even a restore would be less painful.
