Whenever I press the home button or sleep button to wake my iPod from sleep, there is a 2-3 second delay. It's getting pretty annoying for me. Anybody else experiencing this problem?

I think that's everyone. But this one can be fixed with software. It's not a hardware problem, so Apple most likely won't replace your iPod because of it. But if 2 seconds of your life is really this important, then you need to do some better time management. Don't tell me it adds up, you do lots of things in life that also add up (Thinking about what to do, switching channels, starting your car, etc. all take up seconds of your life). But this can be fixed with software.

after a long period of time, the ipod touch hibernates. it saves its memory and stuff onto a file in the root partition, and sleeps (I think this is to save battery). when you press the power/home button, it has to read the file, causing the delay.

btw if its an ipod touch 8gb on 3.0, it might be laggy.

The 3.0 firmwares were laggy for me.The 4.0 is so much smoother and nice.I don't care what most people say the 4.0 runs perfect on the 2nd generation.

My iPod Touch 4 varies from about .40 seconds to 1 and a half second, depending on when I last had it awake.
