my ipod was at 20% last night. so i plugged it in before i went to bed.

woke up this morning, and it's still at 20%,
but the symbol over the battery is displaying the plugged in icon.
which is usually meant when the battery is 100% and plugged in.

so i unplugged it, and plugged it back in.
it displayed the lightning icon to show it was charging.
but then after a couple seconds, it went to the plugged in icon again.

my ipod is now at displaying 10% but i don't know if that's right or not.

ps, i can see and sync my ipod in itunes still.
also tried turning it off and turning it on, didn't update the battery.
    tried restarting my PC too.

What are you plugging it into? Some iPod docks will do that.

If you are plugging it into your computer, make sure the computer doesn't go into standby or sleep mode. This can actually drain the battery instead of charging it.

Try charging it with a different method - wall charger, etc.
