I have a week 38 touch and the screen is definately faulty.

Has anybody else got a faulty 38?

I look at dark pictures, when looking head on its a bit "shiny" in the blacks, if i go even a few degrees one way it goes pitch black then negative, a few degrees the other way it gets better. So to look at it I have to always look from the bottom left! Top right and almost no picture.

Im going to change it, but I didnt think the week 38 ones were defective?

That sucks. Apple have REALLY messed me around with this. It could well be the last iPod I buy because of their poor customer service and general money-over-people'ness.

Im sure they used to care about their customers. It seems the richer they get the greedier they get, more like M$ everyday.

You're talking about dead pixels? If so, then you shouldn't buy any LCD related items. No matter what brand you're going for whether it's low end or high end, you're going to have the chance of encountering dead pixels out of the box...it's just part of the LCD.

Fortunately most dead/stuck pixels can be fixed and usually isn't bad. If it is, they are replaceable.

Im talking about the broken black issue. I have week 38 not 37, but the blacks are still negative.
Gonna take it back anyway as I wanted a 16 not 8. Will pay the extra as soon as they have them in stock.

well its always possible to get a faulty one. You could get one a year later from today and have the slight chance of it being faulty.

Yeah, there's no such thing as a perfect production. There's always some that are faulty
