you actually dont need the update. there is a website (forgot what it was) where you can type in the address, pick an image for the icon.. and it will make it an app.

i tried searching for the link to the website but couldnt find it. sorry.

    edit: i found it. http://www.jonsthoughtsoneverything.com/iphone_apper/

or you can siply upgrade to 1.1.3 using iJailbreak.com's wonderful installer and then install the "! Application Prep" package from applerepo.com

to do so, just add iJailbreak.com/repo.plist to your sources in installer, and then in install go down to the iJailBreakMobile category. If you have 1.1.1, install the iJailBreakMobile 1.1.1, if you have 1.1.2, install iJailBreakMobile 1.1.2. Once you install the package, go into settings and turn your autolock to never. then plug your iPod in so it doesnt reun out of battery. Then tapp the iJailBreakMobile app on your springboard and let it go. it'll take about a half hour. When your done and on 1.1.3, add applerepo.com to your sources in installer and then you should have the "iPhone 1.1.3 Apps for iTouch" category. Install "! Application Prep" and then any other iphone apps you want.

now when you click the + (bookmark) in safari, you have the optioin to "Add to Desktop"
