My iPod Touch 2G has water damage.

Everything is fine, just the screen cannot be "touched". Can't slide power off, can't do nothing.

Thinking of buying another iPod. Can I transfer my purchased apps? Don't wanna spend $50 again.

Ps. I never sync, not on the computer.

If not, any way to repair the screen? Someone repaired it by soldering on a new resistor. Not a gadget nut, so I'll need professional help.

    Bah.

EDIT: Also stuck on Headphones mode.

Don't try and turn it on.

Let it sit in a sealed air-tight container of uncooked dry white rice for a week.

See if that helps to suck all the moisture out.

Since you bought them with your iTunes account, you can just download them off your iPod again for free.

Also... you can buy another Digitizer (The touch screen part) for less than 50$, and you can move the LCD screen to the new Digitizer, and bam... brand new.

If you cannot figure out how to fix it yourself try "RapidRepair"...google it

Nburnes: Too late, I couldn't turn it off in the first place. Waiting for a dead battery. I'm experienced at restoring a water damaged iPod with a working screen (3rd time water damaged). I would've turned it off. All the water is out, I've rice bagged it and stuck in under a lamp. I think I need a new screen.

Zombie: Where do I get these Digitizers? Mind you, I live in Australia so some things may not be available.

(BTW i wouldn't risk repairing yourself and breaking your ipod...that's just my opinion)

I have around $10,000 dividends of shares so I can do whatever.
