    This is weird.

I woke up this morning and went to unlock my iPod and found one of those "remote access" messages asking if I wanted to accept or reject the connection.

My WiFi is WPA secured, and there is only one computer on the network. And I didn't send the VNC request, so who did?

Maybe a bug in the program would make it do that?

Anyone else have this happen at an odd time like this?

    Probably an exploit in veency.

Meh. Just check your routers logs. I'm sure the "attacker" didn't VPN up.

I am sure that it was some sort of veency error, but like he said, check your logs just to be safe.

Sounds like Veency; someone must be on your network or know your external IP. Try changing your WiFi password to start; if someone knows your WiFi password, it's really easy to just scan, find out there's an iPod touch, and open up a VNC Viewer.

meh, so long as veency asks you whether or not you want to accept it, I don't see a problem. Teachers at my school have been doing that with the school wifi, checking the IPs of people that are unfamiliar, and then knocking them off/ VNCing into them and shutting them off.

well for the first thing it was probably someone discovering your ipod and attempting to connect to it. the second post, however, is different. from the looks of it, someone was able to connect to your ipod with ssh and mess around in there.

Hmm. Guess it was just a quark with Veency.

    Thanks for the thoughts/info.
