Hey I got a Jailbroaken iPod Touch 2G and want to make use of my warranty.
I asked in an Apple Store and they told me that I'll get a new one...
Now I've to restore it to make sure that they won't notice the former Jailbreak:
What's the best way? Do I need the restore mode? How to clear the freespace?

Just go into DFU mode and restore. When the restore is done don't use a backup. That should remove any traces of a Jailbreak from your iPod

Just do a DFU and restore. When you get the refurb they will give you the warranty doesn't start over. It will be one year from the purchase of the original device

    Ok thank you.
Can I use the backup for the new touch i'll get or do I loose my data because it's bound to the old one?

I got warranty with future shop their policy is if anything in the box breaks they replace it.

Ive gotten 30 pairs of relaly good headphones from future shop since my warranty began.

They dont count or mark anywhere where u get it. Just take a broken pair in and they replace it with a new pair or equivelent, sometimes they even let you choose like $50 headphones.
