Recently my iPod Touch 1G broke, it got the White screen of death, and restoring etc. did not work so I phoned apple and even though I was 7days out of the 1-year warranty they agreed to repair it free of charge. Brilliant I thought, then I get an email saying that any physical damage to the iPod would mean that the warranty would be rejected, not so brilliant I thought.

Last November I dropped the iPod on the tarmac

and the back plate was dented/scratched beside the wi-fi antenna (See Below), this is completely unrelated to the current problem and I was worried that they won't fix my iPod because of this damage. Do you guys have any past experience with warranties being rejected?

I have a friend that cracked his screen once, and had several dents and dings in his iPod Touch. But the warranty had already expired I think, so he just got a new 2G Touch instead.

But your iPod looks thrashed, Lol.

They will NOT take that back. They only repair/replace for internal damage, not physical.

warranty is for the mistakes apple makes in manufacturing, and when u use it normally, it breaks. Physical damage automatically voids warranty.
