Hi guys! I just had a few questions having to do with the warranty.

    1. How long can it be before you return your iPod for full price back?
    2. What if the litmus paper is wet but the iPod is running fine except for an unrelated problem?

I called up Apple and they sent me a free box to send it back and I have the box and am probably dropping it off at Fed-Ex tomorrow. So please answer A.S.A.P. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: It seems that return period is 6 weeks but I've had mine for months so that's out of the question.

    3. If I get my iPod replaced for free, does the warranty start over because its a new iPod?

OK, what was the thing to make it change color? Can it dry out?

true I manage an ipod accessories store and all the ipods ive sent off that had the water damage indicator turn red, apple wont replace, no matter what sob story i give them.

But ive went into apple with an iphone that had the indicator half red only and they replaced. I think the guy was just cutting me a break because I played stupid.

I would suggest bringing it into apple as opposed to shipping it. They are less likely to really check it out if you bring it in.

And ive heard of some tricks by dabbing alcohol to absorb something in the indicator but I would never go that route. to risky. Just bring it into apple, play the dumb guy routine and hope they buy it.
