Well I was going to post my questions here ( http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284655 ) but the thread is locked.. anyways, does this mean we have 3 exploits? One for now, One for 4.0 and an iBoot for the new devices????

Because that would be a miracle

Spirit is the current software exploit, that both Geohot and Comex found independently.
Geohot then found a ROM level exploit, which is being saved for the next harware revision (iPhone 4G), as hardware exploits are hard to come by.

Thats amazing news! but doesn't that only leave us with 2 exploits? Because p0sixninja was using Spirit?(Comex found that exploit)
    Alright, will do!

true.. but i thought we would have 3..

I do realize, based on the shortage, that we have A LOT. Also its so much better because one's a hardware exploit!

I just hope that it'll still be there by the time the next iPod touch is introduced

there will be. The Dev teams are smart enough to save the exploits. The Hardware one for the new iDevices, and the userland(comex's) for 4.0... We should be just fine.

    EDIT

oh just realized what you meant.. It will still be there. Apple wouldn't have released the firmware if they knew the exploit was there.

The dev team's gonna introduce the hardware-based exploit after the iPhone is released. This means that Apple, who generally introduces the next iPod touch a couple months after the iPhone, will have time to fix the exploit before it is released

Oh well.. Atleast we will be able to find the new exploits. Apple can only make more with all these new features right?
