So,after looking about the forums to see whether or not I could actually jailbreak iOS4.1, and I fell upon some interesting information. Apparently, the 4.1 update CAN be jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.5 beta 5, but with Cydia having multiple errors.

So is it possible for me to jailbreak my iPod touch G2 with redsn0w 0.9.5 beta 5, for just the multitasking and battery percentage features? (no Cydia,no homescreen wallpapers.)

You would need to get into Cydia to get OpenSSH to do so..

You can do it, but the iPod will be unstable.

But doesn't redsn0w have a thing before you get your iDevice into DFU mode where you can select multitasking, battery percentage, and homescreen wallpapers?

But I thought it was stable, as long as you didn't install Cydia?

No you don't. Redsn0w has the option to enable the features.

If all you want is the multitasking and percentage, then I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem.. Just remember to keep those SHSH blobs!

So let me clear this up. So if I just install multitasking and battery percentage, and no Cydia, my G2 iPod would be perfectly stable, and not all jacked up?

I don't know if anyone's tried it! Give it a go (after backing up), and let us know!

yea u can actually. i was watchin a vid on youtube about it a while ago, it was a tutorial, and the guy in vid juss updated to 4.1, and then ran redsnow with 4.0, just enabling multitasking and wallpaper. looked like it was running pretty well. and the software stayed at 4.1(iono how lol)
