I have a pretty large collection of DVD's, about 2 of which I want on my iPod. But how do I get them into iTunes? I stick in the disk, open up itunes, and nothing. No promt, nothing. Do I have to buy them again on iTunes?!

I apologize if this is a noob question, but I have never done anything with DVD's other than watch them on my TV.

you need to buy a converter and convert the DVD file to an .mp4 or .m4v file that iTunes and iPod/iPhone would understand, there are plenty of those converters out there, but they eighter have a "watermark" or a limit.

I personally use Cucusoft Ultimate DVD converter suite, which I can convert my DVD's to a digital format, and convert a media file into another extension..i.e. AVI to .MP4

    Handbrake <3

No watermarks, no first 5 mins crap.

I think its a 30 day trial not sure, but its best so far, just select ipod touch in menu and it makes a copy ready for ipod

Actually for the Mac handbrake is free.

    Follow this link: http://handbrake.fr/
At the top of the page it says for Mac, Linux, or Windows.

Just pop in the disk, select ipod in the preset, and click go!
