The Volume MusicControl tweak which changes the volume buttons to control the music tracks (see http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=190922) is now available for 3.0 on Cydia as 'Volume Media Settings'. Thanks to ipodtouchmaster05 for this great tweak and for taking the time to make it compatible with 3.0.

Yeah, I asked him about that a few days ago. It works great. Much thanks ipodtouchmaster.

Edit: If you want to change the volume, double click the home button to open up the iPod controls, then you can change the volume with the rockers again.
It's useful if the iPod is in your pocket and you want to adjust the volume.

Double-click the Home button when the iPod is in your pocket? Are you serious about that?

Hmm, this might be useful, but is there a way to change the volume using the hardware buttons while using the tweak? "Sound Check" doesn't work for me and a lot of my songs play at vastly different volumes...

The volume buttons work normal when the music controls are shown on the lockscreen or the music control window is open (double press Home button).

But is there a toggle so you can change it to work as volume again?

Yes, it installs its own settings app on the Springboard.
