Ok, well i tried to install a cydia app on my ipod touch 1g (jailbroken, obviously), and it froze... I thought there was no problem, so i did a reboot (two button) and when it started, i got the usual cluster of numbers and coding... BUT, i have invalid directories, a volume header needing "minor repair", and a volume bit map needing "minor repair".

What do i need to do to avoid needing to buy a new ipod?
