    So with the new supported microphone do you ever think a company like Skype would release software on the app store to allow you to receive and get calls from anywhere in the world if you have a wi-fi connection.

    If so, WOW. It's an iPhone without the monthly fees.

    Well the thought of that...is now it is possible to happen.....but i believe before skype can create any something other iphone app developers will create something which will allow you to make calls but maybe not receive them.....we can't say yet!!! but VoIP is certanly gonna be possible

    It will come down to how b*tchy Apple wants to be about it. If they want to cause a big stink because it could hurt iPhone sales, then we may not see a free VoIP app.

    If the 2G gets jailbroken, you can be sure that VoIP will be a BIG focus for jailbroken apps though.

    well once it get jailbroken then my answer would be from a possible yes to HELL YEA!!!! but like you said if apple doesnt b*tch about it.....but 3rd part apps shouldnt be a problem......its only skype that could raise an issue......
