Are there any apps out there for Voice over IP using IAX instead of SIP? The only reason I ask this is because I have a free IAX account through my work and can easily use a softphone on my laptop but haven't seen a solution for the iPhone.

    Thanks

I don't know any out there as well. We'll have to wait for someone to show one up.

Just wondering, but if you get this service through work it wouldn't hurt to ask whoever manages the accounts about it, would it? Also, if you have SIP-VoIP 1.2 installed, it might be possible to input some of your information for the IAX service in order to use it. The whole concept you're talking about seems pretty fresh, so the best I can suggest is to just try anything

Do you have IAX or IAX2(you should have IAX2 because IAX has been deplored)? I too agree that perhaps Sip-VoIP was not the best way for the Touchmods team to go, but perhaps they were rushed in their choice and IAX(2) was too much work for them.
