I have an intel based macbook running 10.5.6, vmware fusion version 1.1.3 with a windows xp already installed. I downloaded ubuntu 8.10 36 bit. I want to make another virtual machine running ubuntu but I am having trouble installing it. I can not unzip the download on my mac.

    What should I do?

    Thanks

    It's either 32bit or 64bit, not 36bit.

If you downloaded a .iso file, you don't need to unzip it, just use it as a CD image.

ha my bad, I have both the 32 and 64 bit. Which one should I use and how do I use the cd image? Everytime I open the download and then do what?

I would use the 32bit. Just save the iso file somewhere, and in the virtual machine settings, add a CD drive and tell it to use that file.

Don't unzip the file! Just use the file you downloaded. It should have a .iso extension.

Oh ok. It downloaded to my desktop at ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso. This is the file that I use when I set up the new virtual machine.

When I partitioned my hard drive, is there anyway to "departion" it or undo?
