Recently I decided to try vlc4iphone (v1.9.0) so I could gain support for my library of FLAC music. After SSHing my songs to my ipod and listening to them, I was disappointed. The quality was very poor, like 64kbps MP3 bad. Is the program simply not capable to play FLAC at the proper quality or is there a problem I need to fix?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

vlc4iphone is a great idea that isn't executed well. I mean no disrespect to zodttd, I'm sure that porting VLC wasn't easy and I appreciate all of the work he's done, but I could never get vlc4iphone to actually play any of the videos I put in. The audio would work fine, but the video would never show up. You might have to convert your FLAC files to listen to them on your iPod.

Vlc is slow, crashes alot, plays vids choppy, and any audio format/bitrate sounds like a 64kps mp3. Its just terrible in every way imaginable. Try mplayer.
