VLC on iTouch 2G

    so I tried to install the VLC app on my 2G iPod Touch .. but when I put it.. it says that it is not compatible.. isn't it? I mean why not?And when I try to install from my iPod it says thet the download could not be completed and it will be avalable for download next time I plug in my iTouch...

    Ya i just checked their website :http://applidium.com/en/news/vlc_iphone_hits_the_appstore
    notice 2g and 1g aren't mentioned anywhere
    Im in the same boat.

    It's not supported as the app uses the CPU to play to videos, and the iPod 1G and 2G don't have a good amount of ram. = 128mb

    The 3G,iPod Touch 3G+4G have 256mb of Ram, iPhone 4 has 512mb.

    This sucks.

    I'm actually quite pissed off because when i bought my iPod 8gb apple said it was a 3G and they only improved the 32gb and 64gb version. Bastards.

    I've never understood this.... There was once a verson of VLC that worked on 2G. Now they've made a newer version that optimizes the hardware on 3G and 4G. Why not leave the old version available for people who don't rush out to buy a new phone every full moon.

    Just search for the .deb on Google...
    If you know the .deb name, that is... LOL.
