Vista service pack 2?

    Ok, so just realised (i had updates turned off) that i can update to service pack 2 on vista. Im just wondering because i couldn't find any info on google, will updating to sp2 erase all my files?

    You will be able to update safe, but MAKE SURE THE RESTORE POINT IS MADE.
    If it messes up during the update and doesn't go back to restore point well, then you better have recovery disc.

    Vista SP2 is all the patches since SP1 merged into one, so it should be fine to update with out any errors. It defiantly won't erase all your data.

    Service Packs are just major security upgrades (hense 'service'). They update system files, unlike an OS upgrade.

    Like mentioned earlier, just make sure a system restore is created in case of a power surge/battery low.

    BTW, keep updates on from now on. Unless you want to be more prone to virus'. After you get SP2, you will see a load more updates after.
