I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my Vista/Ubuntu (Wubi) Laptop. I was going to partition about 30GB out for Windows 7 but the default partitioner in Vista won't let me use more than 1GB. Is there anything I can use (that doesn't require me to have a Vista boot CD) that can partition my computer this way? I have 100GB free and want to try this. Also, how could I go about undoing this if I wanted? Thanks!

Nope. I just have 2 (vista and recovery). I freed up some room by disabling pagefile and hibernation, but I only can use 30 GB. Is that ok for a Windows 7 partition?

My Windows 7 partition is about 100GB. But the shrink size of yours is being limited by files written at the end of the partition. Try using disk defragmenters to move the files. Also, Google "vista's shrink volume inadequacy" for more information.

Tried that. I got a partition down to about 30GB. Thats the maximum I think. I even tried defragmenters like perfectdisk but none of them move the MFT files... 30GB is ok, right?

I guess it's OK if you aren't going to use it as a main OS.

Boot into Ubuntu, install gparted (apt-get install gparted) and use that.
