Are there any viruses for the iPhone/iPod Touch? The reason im asking is because I just installed Avast Anti-Virus Home addition on my PC.

There's malicious codes that can harm your iPod/iPhone..not necessarily a virus. You might have added a source and you see an "app" that tells you it's an amazing 3d game, well you install it, but guess what? It wasn't a game, it installed something else and deleted your whole Application folder...
That's just an example..but like viruses from safari, I'm not sure. But from installer, yes.

People are stupid with their definition of viruses. Viruses are self acting.

Yes, there are viruses for the iPod touch, considering that a virus is malicious coding that will modify the performance, stability or file system. These viruses can be obtained over the iPod touch's wireless network, particularly when installing an application from a packager such as Installer or Cydia. The malicious code is found in the coding of the "application" and is sent over the network from the source you install it from to your iPod touch. The virus is obtained once the application is run, sending malicious code to the iPod touch to process, which in return results in a negative way, usually deleting important directories or OS/System files.

avast! Anti-virus for your computer will have no effect on protecting your iPod touch from viruses. This is a program for a personal computer, not a mobile device. This program scans your PC's registry for viruses or possibly malware/spyware/adware, and is not compatible in any way with the iPod touch.
