Ok I've done my research and can't seem to find a reliable guide for 3.1.2, all the guide's I've seen are for 3.0 or 3.1. Do any of you know any? Btw don't tell me the side effects, I already know most of em. Last question is that it writes in the memory portion, I've read that it will last about 5 years or so?

    The same guides will work...

Also there is a new version i saw on a different site that works as an app.

And it says 4-5 years of life.

in no way do I want to hijack this thread, but is SuperCharged worth it on an iPhone 2g? I mean it said my memory will be 40MB free but its already about 35MB, is it worth it?

Well I plan on doing this to my phone because im getting either a new 3gs or 4G within 6-9 months. SInce I've read my phone should last about 3-5 years i think it'd be worth it now.

btw im trying to plist method right now

well installed and... 80+ MB freed! I'm testing my new speed with apps now.

It works the same, and it doesn't write an extra partition to your iPod/iPhone. It creates a swap file on your iPod/iPhone in the "/var/vm/" folder. The swap file works as RAM (read/write/deletes constantly), that's the reason for all the side effects...

the swap filing will then kill various portions from time to time but it would take over 2 years + right?

Exactly. I used to use it before(some amount of months), but since I restored and re-jailbroke, I haven't used it and really don't need it.

Don't use iPhoneVM. It will rape ur ipod from the memory out. Ur ipod will die within 1-3 years, depending on how ur using the VM.
