i think it would be cool if someone made a virtual dj app. Sorry if this has been posted before
with a 2 turn table setup and a single table set.
forward and backward play, switcher and pitch control
with a looper thats like setting a a-b set point to loop on a dvd player, except a mp3 file, and a program that lets you scratch with mp3's off your ipod, with a record mode to mix with other tracks.
Idk, just lettin the ideas flow...........Please Register or Log in to view images

this has been suggested 100s of times! i would like to see virtual dj ported to the touch! but it is a very big programPlease Register or Log in to view images ! r u guys djs? wot dec's do ye use? i have 2 pioneer cdj1000mk2's and a DJM 700
for me, i'd simply like an app that can speed up or slow down tracks, with the ability to keep the original pitch, and the ability to set cue points ... start there i reckon ... i have turntables and a CDJ, would be great to be able to add the Ipod into the mix
seriously how much easier would that be than lugging my whole kit, risking damage to all my records!
Thousands of tracks on i ipod, instead loading up my car.
Totally! ... if there's already a mixer at the place, or you have one at home, then i don't think you need much more than pitch up/down, cue points ... i'm not talking about scratching here, just making a mix
I've pushed and pushed for this. It's one of the reasons I bought the touch in the first place, and am anxiously awaiting the SDK. My previous posts culminated in my idea called DropTune (http://code.google.com/p/droptune/), which was a simplified dj-friendly app with cue points... and most importantly
I've got 4 tech 1200's and a vestax 007, playing primarily drum'n'bass and ragga. Would very much like SDK goodness to get this app on our ipods finally.
yea this really needs to happen.
i think a simple mixer, with fading in and out, plus maybe a few effects and BPM change would be good enough!
does the ipod have the processing speed to handle juggling two songs though??
Why not start by using OSC's protocol, Max/MSP, and Ms. Pinky. There is already an app that did this but its not specifically for DJs. It's called aka.Remote or aka.iPhone.
checking that out... japanese isn't my strongsuit.
