view / change file and folder permissions through usb?

    ok firstly i'm sorry if there is another thread explaining all this, but i tried searching and couldnt find anything..

    i have a jailbroken ipod touch 2.0
    and i want to view and manage files and folders through my usb cable

    reasons i dont want to SSH:
    (1) my internet is capped and goes far too slow
    (2) usb connection wouldnt use up my precious bandwith

    if you can, please help.. in any way possible
    im somewhat desperate

    I use a program called iphonebrowser to view and manage files through USB, but this is far more basic compared to SSH, and you can't change permissions with it. Works on 2.0 and iPod touch too.

    iPhoneBrowser does not show the entire file system. It only shows the Media Partition. Not the Data partition.

    I don't think so. I remember back in 1.x it would only show you the media part, unless you installed the fix through installer. Then, iphonebrowser could view everything. Cause for me the filesystem through iphonebrowser looks the same as through SSH.

    just use totalcommander to put the file on ur ipod via usb and then
    use SSH to change permissions
