I have a movie I want to put on my iPod but iTunes is being lame for some reason, so is it possible for me to just put the video on my iPod using Cute FTP 8 Pro? Thanks.

Yes. It seems possible but it is not recommended. I am not sure if after transfering the videos to your iPod will even recognize the the video and play it. It may not show up in your Videos if you use CuteFTP. iTunes is the only and best way I know to transfer video files to iPod.

~Make sure the videos you are trying to transfer exist
~The files extension must be .mp4
~Convert the video to .mp4 if original video are as follows: .avi, .wmv, .mov, .flv, etc
~Make sure the video files isn't corrupted
~Your iPod have enough space available for the video

    It's not the file.

Seems to be iTunes, I get a variety of errors. It'll start syncing and a little bit into it I'll get an error saying it can't find the device or something, that or my iPod doesn't even show up in iTunes.

I also sometimes get an error when I first open iTunes saying it couldn't open my iPhone or something like that.

there actually is a way, but its kinda risky.
i used to do it with my ipod video all the time.
it wasn't perfect but it worked most of the time.
what you do is sync a dummy file into your ipod, search for it using explorer
(it should be the smallest video)
then transfer the reject video into the same folder,
delete the dummy (being sure to remember its code name)
and rename your reject video to the dummy's code name.
now open up itunes and click movies under your ipod
play the now synced reject video, and it should rename it to your original file.
the only problem is that now, since the ipod doesn't show up in explorer,
i wouldn't know how to search for the video.
also, sometimes it freezes the ipod.
heres the dummy if you wanna give it a try
