no one has given me any positive feedback on this. So this is a desperate attempt in doing so. Is there any way to open videos or mp4 files using the finder.app? i havnt even been able to locate the videos/movies.app to open them? feedback is much appreciated.

install a webserver onto the ipod,
make a directory there where you put the videos.

into the same directory do this "index.cgi" (dont forget to chmod 755 it)

    #/bin/sh

    echo "Content-type: text/html"
    echo ""
    echo "<html>"
    for MOVIE in `ls -iA1 *.mov`
    do
    echo "<a href="$MOVIE">$MOVIE</a><br>"
    done
    echo "</html>"

then a html which lists the movies will be automaticly generated.

    could work too i think.
