Uh...download movies or rip them from a DVD, then sync them with your iPod. It's that easy. Though downloading movies and ripping DVDs IS illegal. I do not think there is any way to download them from the internet right to your ipod, as most movies downloadable online are in AVI format and do not work on iPod without being converted.

It doesn't have to be in those formats when you download it. You can download any movie then convert it using a free progream such as Handbrake.

It depends on the movie and whether it has a copyright in effect on it. If you're getting it from a warez site, then it probably is illegal, but that's not to say that it always is.

The location of the user also plays a role. Some countries have less stringent regulations than the US.

Yeah, you are right about other countries and their regulations. While in the US, though, downloading any mainstream movies, old, just released, or pirated is illegal, no matter where you get them from, unless you pay for them like on iTunes.

But since you are seeking free movies, if you are in the US, it is illegal unless you pay for them. But if you are in another country, it depends on their regulations. Homemade movies like you find on Youtube are not illegal to download I don't believe.

Well it is illegal to host them on your server or download them from p2p servers (i.e limewire) But it is legal to actually download them.
