I just played with the itouch and want one. My wants one even more.

Anyway, I want to play downloaded movies, avi and mpg files on the itouch.

    How and how difficult.

Second, is there any way to read e-books; pdf, html or txt files?

If I can load and read my books, I'm buying it.

Yes to everything except you would need to convert the avi files to Mpeg-4 . Which is very easy to do.

For most videos, you need a h.264 converter. There are a bunch of free ones, with the most popular probably being Videora.

Then for eBooks, download the Books application from installer. To add books, SSH onto your iPod, and make a folder in the /var/private/root/Media folder called EBooks (with that capitalization). Then place any ebooks into there.

Of course for the ebooks, pdfs and text files you need to jailbreak your ipod (but thats not nearly as hard as it sounds).
