    title summed it up.

is there a way to play my videos in the background so I can switch between safari and my movie without having to stop it?

maybe backgrounder but I assume the pressing of the home button will pause the video even tho the app is still running..

Just a thought dude, why don't you use the option in settings --> videos and select play where left off? So even if you close open safari and come back, the video plays from the same point where you left off. Just a thought your requirements might be different though if so let us know

I already had that set up.

    here's a totally irrelevant question.

if I were to plug an mp3 player into the USB thingamabob on my iPod, could I access it?

I doubt you can read from another usb device no..
Search in Cydia "steffwiz" and download that source, then search "All Sources" and there you go. Not every source but a good ammout of them

Yes, replace its "icon.PNG" in the app folder.
