I was wondering if there was an application that would let you stream videos from any site onto an iPod. For example, when I go to, say, abc.com to catch up on a lost episode, I navigate to the media player, and it says that I have to download a plugin. Is there any way to overcome this?

Nope, that requires Flash from Adobe which is currently unavailable on the iPod Touch. If you have a jailbroken iPod, you can try imobilecinema.com's plugin but I doubt you'll have any success.

Adobe has actually teamed up with Apple to bring Flash to the iPod touch eventually.

But at this time - there is no alternative. That media player and similar things require flash.
