yes same problem here. Does it have something to do with the 10.5.6 update that apparently disabled DFU mode?

Thats not DFU mode, thats recovery mode...
Hold both buttons for 10 secs EXACTLY, then let go of sleep (top button) but keep holding home til your computer recognizes your iPod

    redsn0w brick?

Okay, instead of doing things the manual way, I used the redsn0w gui. Everything ran fine up until the point where you send it the:
    iRecovery -s
    arm7_stop
    mw 0x9000000 0xe59f3014
    mw 0x9000004 0xe3a02a02
    mw 0x9000008 0xe1c320b0
    mw 0x900000c 0xe3e02000
    mw 0x9000010 0xe2833c9d
    mw 0x9000014 0xe58326c0
    mw 0x9000018 0xeafffffe
    mw 0x900001c 0x2200f300
    arm7_go
    arm7_stop
    /exit
code through, the installer crashed, and I don't know WTF happened. But now, the ipod powers on, but says it needs to be restored through itunes. okay, fine, but itunes won't restore it, using any firmware. Now for some reason, it is ONLY in DFU mode...Am I screwed or does anyone know how I can fix this?
