So the other day I dropped and cracked the bottom left corner of my iPhone 4 :'(. A day later it started saying "no sim card installed" so I restarted it and it fixed the problem for a bit then it happened again so I took it to the apple store. The lady reset he network settings (Didn't even think to do that) and it fixed it until today when it happened again. So I went back hoping to get a replacement phone and the guy I talked to said it was a "known problem" with the sim card being read and apple would have a firmware update to fix the problem in about 6 days.

#1 Apple is hard at work with 4.1 betas so I highly doubt there will be a "fix" in 6 days

#2 He said oh Just pop out the sim card and pop it back in..... uhhhhhh I'd rather just have my phone work in the first place

#3 Do you think I should go back and demand another phone even though he claims it wont fix the problem by switching phones?

My iPhone 4 hasn't given me that message in the month that I've owned it. Get it replaced.

Take the sim out and blow in sim card hole. That has fixed the problem on my previous iPhone's before.

I had too. I thought it was to cute.

I would go back and make sure to talk to a different employee who looks like they could actually help you kyle.

Get back in there with your mind set on a replacement no matter what BS, demand a NEW replacement, or threat them saying you will return the iPhone
