    Hey People,

I really want an iPhone, but my mom won't let me switch to at&t. She says we have to stay with Verizon. What is the cheapest phone I can get that allows me to tether an internet connection to my iPod Touch? I have seen programs like WMWifirouter. Also, do I have to have an unlimited data plan to tether (even with a program like WMWifirouter)?

    Thanks a lot iPtf!

You have two options, best I can tell. You need a phone that either runs windows mobile and then turn it into a hot spot. Or you buy the portable wifi router that you attach to any smartphone (windows mobile or blackberry). But that's real clunky.

Only other option will be to JB 3.0 when it comes out and then tether via bluetooth . . . a method that doesn't exist yet (but interests me tremendously).

Best bet is a windows mobile phone.

Verizon's plans for that kind of thing start at $60/month. Per line. For only 5GB a month. I'd just forget about it.

Thanks guys. I'll just get an HTC Touch Pro and run WMWifirouter.
