So recently I noticed multiple verizon phones that have GSM capabilities not just the blackberry but the new samsung that verizon has just launched which works with GSM networks overseas. I was wondering if anyone had looked into unlocking either the black berry or this new samsung and if not that if anyone thinks they could be unlocked and used with an iPhone? Please be kind i really have no idea behind the technical nature of these phones just the knowledge that the reason Verizon phones cannot be unlocked or their sims is because they use CDMA not GSM.

    Thank you

Verizon phones do not have a SIM card, since they are CDMA.

I'm no expert, but I would say that this would never work. You can't hack an iPhone onto Verizon.

    Correct.

Since iPhones require a SIM card to use service, and since Verizin phones don't use SIM cards, therefore it's not possible.

I know this might seem redundant, but have you looked into the droid? It's a lot like the iPhone, but you get a physical keyboard and they don't restrict the apps you can run. That's right- NES emulators, whatever you want, you can download it from the official app store equivalent.

The Droid is nice, but it's kind of old now compared to newer Android devices.
