Hey guys. So I used to have the verbose iBoot file that DHowett made, but he cleaned out his hosting and now the file is not avaliable. Is anyone here willing to send me their Verbose iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE file? Not a patch, a .img3

    it should be: iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE.img3

    not: iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE.patch

    Thanks guys!

Either you replace the patch file from the firmware bundle of whatever program you are using with MN patch and built a new custom ipsw or you decrypt the original img3 file using xpwntool and the key and iv given in the info.plist of the firmware bundle directory (or search for them on the web), apply the patch with bspatch and then encrypt the file again.

Yet another thread that I read and thought to myself... did he really just say that?

Yes, it's a .patch file. What else would you expect it to be? Apply the patch to a stock iBoot and be done with it.

I think you should look into Sun's virtualbox.

OK. Use the patch. Put the patch and iBoot file into the same directory.

    Code:
    cd [directory name here]
bspatch [old iboot file name] [patched iboot file name] [iboot patch name]
    example

    Code:
    cd ~/Desktop
    bspatch iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE.old.img3 iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE.img3 iBoot.n72ap.RELEASE.patch
