I knew i had to wait for the 3G one, but won't this work?

Is there maybe an app for this?

Or do I just have to enable the tethering on my phone?

How are you going to get the iPhone and iPad connected to each other?

You can try MyWi. It sends your 3g signal to another device. Not sure how it works because I never used it.

    actually

As long as you had the iPhone with 3g internet and an app like mywi (need to be jailbroken), or the ipad same concept and if for some reason one the ipad..or the iphone didn't have internet you can use mywi and wirelessly make a hotspot meaning you can connect to it just like you would to any other normal wifi internet
Basicly I made my internet from my iphone named it Zander and it isn't connected to any computers or anything but I can share it with anyone around my range

    it's awesome

I don't even think you have to have 3g just something like 3g or edge....etc
    but it's actually very simple

I do have 3G on my iPhone 3G
and isn't the option "tethering" for making a hot spot of my phone?
It says i can connect it with a USB device or over bluetooth, so both my pad and my phone have bt!?

Thanks for the "MyWi" hint. Haven't thought of that.

But do I really have to have a similar app on the pad?

Will test this out tomorrow when my pad finally arrives...

I think the tethering option on your iPhone is to tether to a computer/laptop. I'm not completely sure though. MyWi should work. I don't think you'll need a similar app on your iPad. You just need MyWi, and your iPad will detect the connection and that's it.

oh yeah I guess selecting tether then bluetooth would just work, I think I just got excited bc with the mywi you can have just about anything else needing internet connect and use your phones internet connection.

You would only need one app on the device that has the internet if that app could make it wi-fi style if it was bluetooth both devices need to be able to use bluetooth still one app usually....and then usb is only one app bc you just have that tether app and hook it via usb then voila usually an internet connection will start up....unless it also requires software on your pc and if it does then your using the wrong tethering applications or something just went terribly wrong and it's just not your day

Okay so ive tested it and it doesnt work.
I cant find my phone with my Pad by the tethering Option.
With MyWi it just Works if my phone and my pad are on wifi, but it doesnt work when my phone is on 3G.

Any hints on how to get this working?

    Alpha,
It does work. Yes your iPhone needs to have both 3G and Wifi "ON". That is by design. Your phone uses 3G to connect to the internet and WiFi to accept an incomming connection from your iPad. So when you are in an area without Wifi access, your phone can now provide that service. I use it and it works fine.
