Is it possible to use Safari to check for dead/stuck pixels right out of the box or do you need to charge it up and/or connect to iTunes before it lets you access the features?

    Thanks

You have to sync w/ iTunes before it lets you do ANYTHING.

IIRC, mine was about 7/8 charged. I activated it thru iTunes, then left it to fully charge before doing anything else with it (I actually had to head back to work after running home to receive the delivery ... that's why I left it charging!).
