Okay. I hope I am posting this in the right place...

Can someone please help me use the original 2.2.1 ipsw to retrieve some of the original files for my ipod? I forgot to back one up and now I need it.

    I am on Windows.

You must have it somewhere, try looking in
And the firmware should be in there, if not then download it, it's over 250MB+

    That where it should be^^
Go into Help, Search Hidden files, and look for a way to show them, as ~appdata is a hidden folder.

Yeah. I have the ipsw file. But I thought you were able to extract files out of it. Like the original ones. Cause I need /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/Info.plist
