    Howdy peeps.

Is there any way to look up directions when I'm connected to the map, and have them saved for when I go online?

It may be possible to "screencapture" the map, or a series of segments of the map, to "photos". Then, scroll thru "photos".

That sure is a possibility, but I'm sure he was referring to an actual program that has a map that you can download with all the addresses and everything, and it just generates the way, all offline.

It doesn't have to be a seperate program, just a feature where i look an address up on google maps, and save it to see the router later.

seems like a common sense feature for the touch

It seem you want a MapQuest "web app" for iPhone and iTouch, that keeps the last search results on one webpage in the cache, including those smaller map views and instructions of important intersections.

    That is a great suggestion.

on the same topic, is there a way to turn off the satellite type view, and instead get just like streets etc, like one would see on mapquest, or google maps? I think it would take up a lot less memory and load faster, than the stupid satellite view

Yeah just hit the little button on the bottom right corner of the maps app and you can remove the satellite view
